Beginnings (written April 9)

Hi there!

So our fabulous Pearson College Group 4 Project Group consists of Brandi from Newfoundland, Denyse from The Netherlands, Charity from Kenya, and I (Emmy) from BC! It is a splendid group and we've got some interesting ideas for our Group 4 Project -which is a collaboration of students from each of the Scientific areas. We are interested in measuring the coliform and potentially harmful bacteria like E.Coli that exist in Pedder Bay and comparing it to other beaches around the world. After all, how safe is Bay Jumping? We are still in the process of finding an appropriate test for our project and figuring out which exact type of bacteria we would like to investigate.

Our project is happening on April 17 so we've got just over a week to pull it together. In the meantime we'll keep you in the loop of our latest developments.

Wish us luck!
